An hour and a half from our property is the city of Fort Worth, Texas. Fort Worth is filled with enriched history and vibrant scenery, creating a lasting impression for those who visit it. The parks found in the area are memorable, and help to showcase the overall laid-back vibe of the city. 


Today we will be exploring the different parks in Fort Worth, as well as our own beloved Jack County. Join us as we discover what makes each place unique, as well as which ones would be perfect for families of all ages!

Best Parks in Fort Worth: An Inside Look at Activities for All Ages

Fort Worth Botanic Garden

Address: 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd, Fort Worth, TX 76107


This beautiful 120-acre campus creates an escape into nature and has a family-friendly atmosphere. The garden was established in 1934 and is considered to be one of the oldest botanic gardens in the state of Texas. 


Over 2,500 species of plants are scattered throughout the fields. Stroll through the Japanese Garden and take in the koi-filled ponds, or witness the historic Rose Garden. Either way, you are guaranteed to have a great time. Below are their current hours and admission prices:

Trinity Park

Dating back to its origins in 1892, Trinity Park is ideally located for picnics, jogging, or relaxing under the shade of a tree. Playgrounds and picnic areas provide opportunities for play for families with small children. 


Enjoy the outdoors? You will love the trails that wind throughout the park, great for biking and hiking. That’s not all, as the park offers a scenic waterfront, where viewers can watch ducks, take pictures, and enjoy the overall sights and sounds it has to offer. 


Wildlife encounters include armadillos, gray foxes, cottontail rabbits, coyotes, raccoons, and several species of birds. You will forget you are even in a park when you check out their nature trails!


The park is open every day from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering plenty of time for you and your family to enjoy the scenic views and the overall beauty of the land. Come enjoy the thrills of Trinity Park in Fort Worth, Texas!

Gateway Park

Gateway Park is huge! Sitting at just under 800 acres, it is larger than thirty Texas State Parks. It is not a sight you can afford to miss! It is so big, in fact, that it spans over two ZIP codes! Pet lovers are sure to enjoy Gateway Park, as it offers an off-leash dog park,
Fort Woof. It is located within the park limits and was created by the Fort Worth Dog Park Association in 2004. 


If your party includes sports fanatics, then soccer, and baseball fields are present for a quick pick-up game. Additionally, for those who enjoy a more laid-back and surreal environment, an observation deck can also be found in the park limits. All in all, Getaway Park is sure to have an activity for anyone visiting the city of Fort Worth.

Burk Burnett Park

If you are visiting Fort Worth during the holiday season, stop by Burk Burnett Park to witness the lighting of their Christmas Tree. This tradition dates back to 1937 and has been an annual tradition ever since. Additionally, a 50-foot art piece known as the ‘Man with a Briefcase’ is displayed for your viewing pleasure.


Marine Creek Lake Park

Originally created as a part of a flood-controlling system, the park now offers great views of varying animals, plants, and insects. Standing at nearly 70 acres, the land presents great walking paths and views of a lake. Come witness the incredible scenery for yourself the next time you are in Fort Worth!

Honor our beloved fallen soldiers who sacrificed fighting for our country and community. At Jack County Memorial Park, your group can witness the effort and financial contributions of our community who built this memorial in honor of those who have served and continue to fight for our freedoms. 


Additionally, customized bricks can be purchased for $100 to honor a loved one who has served either in the U.S. Armed Forces or as a First Responder.
